Indian cricket team’s pacer Jasprit Bumrah has been the core player of the bowling department for a long time and has maintained impressive stats in his cricketing career so far.
Recently, the former Pakistan skipper Ramiz Raja showered praises on Jasprit Bumrah and hailed him as the ‘legend of all the three formats in cricket.’ He highlighted a remarkable improvement of Jasprit Bumrah while discussing the deterioration of Pakistan’s fast bowling resources in Tests, ODIs, and T20Is.
Bumrah had a terrific campaign in the recently concluded (T20 WC 2024) and ranked as the 3rd highest wicket-taker of the tournament by taking 15 wickets in 8 matches at an average of 8.27 and an economy rate of 4.18. Also, the right-arm fast bowler was named the player of the tournament for his outstanding performance. Mainly, Ramiz Raja was impressed with Bumrah’s contribution during the pressurized moments of the semi-final and final match in T20 WC 2024.
Interestingly, he achieved the Player of the Month award for July 2024 and overtook the position of the Indian skipper Rohit Sharma and Afghanistan wicketkeeper-batter Rahmanullah Gurbaz to claim the prestigious prize.
Ramiz Raja Praises Jasprit Bumrah: A Legend for Team India in all formats
While speaking on his official YouTube channel, Ramiz Raja appreciated Jasprit Bumrah for his exceptional bowling performance:
“ Truly Outstanding! In my view, Jasprit Bumrah is a legend in all three formats of cricket. There isn’t anyone greater who has contributed their best efforts in all three formats. As you can observe, where this boy came from, he was short of confidence and had an unusual bowling action. Although he was declared unfit, he made a grand comeback and helped the Indian cricket team win the T20 World Cup 2024”, said Ramiz Raja.
Ramiz voiced his opinion after an old video of Team India’s new head coach Gautam Gambhir became viral on the internet. In that video, the former Indian batter was discussing the concept of having multiple players who can deliver an outstanding performance in red ball (Tests) and white ball cricket formats (ODIs and T20Is). Possibly, Ramiz’s statement might be a response to what Gautam Gambhir explained in that video.
Jasprit Bumrah Stats in all three formats: Tests, ODIs and T20Is

Jasprit Bumrah Performance in T20 World Cup 2024: Conclusive Facts
One of the main reasons why Ramiz Raja appreciated Jasprit Bumrah is due to his brilliant performance in the entire 9th edition of the T20 World Cup in June 2024. His contribution to the team confirmed how India was able to have an outstanding tournament only if the Pacers had an excellent campaign.
In the first match of the T20 World Cup 2024 against Ireland, Bumrah was impressive with his bowling figure of 2-6 in 3 overs (including a maiden over) at Nassau County Stadium in New York. He proved to the world that his presence in the team would be crucial throughout the tournament.
Similarly, in the next game against Pakistan at the same venue, Bumrah took 3 wickets by giving away just 14 runs in his 4-over spell while defending a low target of 119 runs. Mainly, he achieved early success by dismissing the opponent captain Babar Azam, the wicketkeeper Mohammad Rizwan, and all-rounder Iftikhar Ahmed.
However, Bumrah had to experience only a wicketless match against the USA. But, in the Super 8s, he was a fantastic player for his side by achieving 6 wickets.
Bumrah’s performance in the Semi-Final and Final Match of T20 WC 2024:
In the semi-final match against England, Jasprit Bumrah’s effective contribution of a 2-12 bowling figure helped his team secure a 68-run victory at the Providence Stadium in Guyana to enter the finals.
Especially, the finals against South Africa in Barbados was a perfect example of a pace bowler’s classy performance. After dismissing the opening batsman Reeza Hendricks, South Africa fought back and required just 30 runs at a run-a-ball (30 balls) to win their maiden World Cup.
However, Jasprit Bumrah managed to control the explosive performance of the set batters Heinrich Klaasen and David Miller, who were left completely clueless about his bowling performance in the death overs. He conceded just 6 runs in his last two overs and concluded his 4-over spell with the figures of 2-18. Gradually, the equation was controlled from 30 runs of 30 balls to 16 runs in the last over, which helped Team India secure a 7-run historic victory against South Africa.
